We don’t make this decision lightly, but in the interest of public safety and well-being, we find it safer to postpone/cancel this event. In light of today’s announcement that the National Guard that’s been deployed everywhere in DC will now be allowed to carry arms, and with unpredictable traffic stops/check-points, we don’t want to put anyone in harm’s way. We’re all navigating a complicated (and unprecedented) time in our city, one where we want to support our local community and keep showing it love, while we also understand feeling unease and nervous about being out and about.
