Chartered on May 7, 1918, the local was established by 14 original members in Reading, Pennsylvania[1][3].
History
Since its inception, Local 743 has played a significant role in improving working conditions and advocating for better wages and benefits for its members. Initially, the local faced challenges such as no standardized wage scale, with electrical workers being paid between 25 to 55 cents per hour.
