Fences for Fido
Fences for Fido is an award-winning 501c3 nonprofit that improves the lives of chained dogs. We improve the quality of life for dogs living outdoors. Our volunteers build free fenced yards for dogs previously kept on chains or in small enclosures. Our other services bridge the gaps that prevent families from accessing the goods and services they need to provide good care to their pets. We provide spay/neuter and urgent veterinary care to all dogs we serve. We operate a weekly pet food bank for more than 500 families families of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. We partner with other nonprofits to bring high-volume spay/neuter and wellness clinics to underserved rural communities. We also inspire change by mentoring groups who want to start their own unchaining programs in other states, and in 2014 we helped change Oregon law to strengthen humane standards.
