Want to participate in a beach cleanup with GoAK? Volunteer opportunities are available for next summer. This is a great opportunity to clean some outer Gulf of Alaska coastline on Montague Island. (fb)

Gulf of Alaska Keeper In 2002 a handful of Alaskan volunteers began protecting the waters and habitat of the Northern Gulf of Alaska by cleaning up marine debris in Prince William Sound. In 2006 these efforts morphed into the nonprofit Gulf of Alaska Keeper GoAK which has removed over 3 million pounds of toxic plastic debris from over 1500 miles of critical and sensitive coastal habitat. As the continents largest ongoing marine debris cleanup organization GoAK has developed cleanup techniquesthat make it themost efficient remote coastal marine debris cleanup organization in the world.
