Luke talks about his introduction to substances and the fast-paced lifestyle that ensued, including making money quickly, driving nice cars, and being popular. He started using painkillers in middle school, which led to a 15-year battle with addiction. Despite multiple treatments and relapses, including around 40 overdoses, Luke's life drastically worsened after learning about his mother's brain cancer diagnosis. His addiction led to homelessness and frequent incarcerations. Eventually, with the support of recovery groups, Luke found guidance and a path to recovery #addictionrecovery #overcomingchallenges #survivorstories #recoverymatterspodcast (fb)
