After wildfires devastated parts of Los Angeles, Alliance Susan and Eric Smidt Technology High School teacher Veronica Bane knew the damage went beyond buildings. What started as one post on social media turned into 14,000+ books donated from around the world. Veronica’s book drive has become a movement—bringing books, joy, and normalcy back into the hands of teachers and students. Her story is a beautiful reminder of what happens when educators lead with heart—and how literacy can rebuild more than shelves. 💙📚 Read how this Alliance educator is making an impact far beyond the classroom: https://www.the74million.org/article/l-a-high-school-teacher-and-author-rebuilds-classroom-libraries-after-fires/ (fb)

In February, we celebrated Black History Month at Alliance Ouchi-O'Donovan 6-12 Complex! The Divas of Compton took the stage at the Black History Month Assembly, delivering an electrifying performance celebrating culture, resilience, and Black excellence. The event was filled with powerful student performances and moving speeches honoring the legacy of Black leaders, pioneers, and changemakers. It was a reminder of how far we’ve come—and how much further we can go together. 💪🏾✨ Though Black History Month is ending, the impact of these trailblazers lives on in all of us. Let’s continue to uplift, educate, and push forward! (fb)
