Thanks to support from the Society of Radiographers (SoR), RAD-AID Volunteer, Grace Finn, traveled to Port Vila Central Hospital in Vanuatu, South Pacific, to work with hospital staff on CT protocols and training. Highlights of the trip included developing a "Referral to CT Scan Pathway" This pathway, now reviewed and approved by the radiologist, is designed to streamline and improve the efficiency of patient progression through the CT service. Grace also developed a CT protocol book (pictured) to support radiographers in acquiring images using standardized protocols. Photographs accompany each protocol on the correct positioning for future reference. CT Theory Presentations were given on CT technology and physics, preparation and care, contrast, dose optimization and radiation protection, Artefacts, anatomy and physiology, Paediatric CT, Urgent Findings in CT, QA, and Image Quality. "Overall, my time at Port Vila Hospital was both busy and productive, with a focus on covering a wide range of relevant theoretical and practical topics.
