KAT is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-led nonprofit that focuses on rescuing and adopting out animals in need in Kentucky. We address animal overpopulation through Trap, Neuter, and Return (TNR) programs and promote responsible pet ownership via public education. KAT is a Kentucky volunteer-based nonprofit organization whose charitable mission is animal welfare and rescue efforts. KAT was created to assist animals located primarily within the state of Kentucky. KAT strives to rescue animals from a variety of situations, including instances where an animal’s welfare is in jeopardy due to abuse, endangerment, and/or neglect. KAT seeks to promote this purpose by coordinating with humane societies, shelters, veterinarian offices, other nonprofits, and/or private persons to intake and subsequently foster, vet, and adopt-out animals. KAT also seeks to promote this purpose by taking in “strays” and/or owner surrenders.
