Avenues is a private non-profit organization which serves Schuylkill, Carbon, and Northumberland counties. The purposes of this organization are: to promote the general welfare of persons with developmental and/or physical handicaps or other disabilities. to plan, promote, and assist in the establishment, maintenance and operation of training centers or clinics for the educational, social and physical betterment of all such persons. to aid in research for prevention and treatment of developmental disabilities and other handicaps to the greatest extent possible. to sponsor an educational campaign whereby the general public will be appraised of the abilities and interests of our program participants. to provide a clearinghouse of information which may be of great value and interest to our clients, their parents, families, and friends.
