This is Sheriff Chad Scott and Captain Chris Sims who are visiting the GOC for the purpose of raising awareness and building stronger connections with our community. Visits like this help promote inclusion, reduce stigma, and create partnerships that support recovery. When local leaders engage directly with members of the recovery community, it helps build mutual respect and trust—key ingredients in any strong support system. The GOC crew took on go-karts and roller skates this weekend—and had an amazing time doing it! From racing around the track to gliding (and wobbling) on the rink, it was all smiles. Thank you to Skate Station Funworks Gainesville for donating the tickets! This outing was more than just fun. It was recovery in action. At the GOC, we follow the Clubhouse Model and are proud to be part of a Recovery-Oriented System of Care (ROSC)—where building friendships, confidence, and community is just as important as treatment. ROSC is a DCF priority.
