Attention fellow advocates for childhood cancer awareness!!! Adam Rezmer is a friend who lost his brother from childhood cancer and he is currently participating in an event to help raise funds for Make a Wish Michigan. If you are able, please consider donating to his cause! His original post is copied below. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions and we hope that you are all staying safe and healthy during these uncertain times!!! "I've been continuously thinking over the past several weeks about ways that I could use all of this time off work for something good. Over the past 3-4 weeks I have been riding the bike around town on a fairly regular basis for exercise and slowly but surely it has started to get a little easier to get 10-15 miles (I am still very much a beginner on a road bike). I decided what better way to make good use of this time than to give back to an organization that does so much good for kids and families in our own state. Growing up as a sibling to someone with childhood cancer there were certain things that were "normal" for our family that I slowly recognized were not the same for many of my friends. Make A Wish can help these kids, and their families, feel a little more normal and find some happiness, laughter, and smiles during otherwise difficult times. For those of you who don't know, the Wish-A-Mile ride typically takes place in the summer when teams and individuals ride 300 miles over 3 days to raise money for Make-A-Wish Michigan. Because of COVID-19, the traditional race had to be cancelled. But they are still promoting a virtual ride where you can register to ride any length of distance and raise any amount of money to help support these wish kids. So, I have pledged to raise $1,200 dollars and ride 300 miles by the end of June. To sweeten the pot and potentially torture myself a little more in the process I have decided on the following... I will ride the 300 miles in a shorter amount of time depending on the amount of donations I receive... $500 raised - June 30th (10mi/day) $1,200 raised - June 20th (15mi/day) $2,000 raised (The typical pledge for a traditional race) - June 15th (20mi/day) **If I exceed $2,000 in donations I'll have to think of something a little extra to do in celebration** The above timeline is still nothing close to the actual ride of 300 miles in 3 consecutive days, but I literally started riding this road bike 4 weeks ago. That being said, if you want to see me torture myself on a road bike for the month of June, or you just want to help out a great cause, use the link below and donate! Better yet, sign up and join me virtually to raise even more money!" https://makeawishmichigan.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.participant&participantID=1813&fbclid=IwAR2vy8Qnm2rZxlBtGSCIjeyxfFHZJxo6malhIy8sOuz5jgd82_CqFt9OlYg (fb)
