Happy World Rat Day! 🐀🌎 🎉 Rats may not have the best reputation, but these curious critters are incredibly smart & sweet. We've had real rats playing real basketball— and teaching our community about positive conditioning —at COSI for over 40 years! Ever wonder how this classic got started? 🏀 ⤵️ In 1984, our education team was watching a TV show called “That’s Incredible” featuring a young girl who had trained rats to play basketball for a school project— and they were immediately obsessed! At the time, the team was working to develop a sports psychology exhibit and knew rats playing basketball would be the perfect addition. She came to the museum to train our team, and the rest is history! Little did we know that it would stay a daily favorite for decades. 🧡🐀 ✨ (fb)
