In 1916, the Pennsylvania State Highway Department abruptly outlawed racing on Summit Mountain, leading to the cancellation of the beloved Summit Hill Climb. But racing enthusiasts didn’t let that stop them! They quickly raised funds and built a 1.125-mile board racing track in Hopwood.
