In an @amnewyork op-ed, Ardil Zîlan shared his journey fleeing political persecution in North Kurdistan at 17 and arriving in the U.S. alone. Now 19, he’s working toward his dream of becoming an immigration lawyer—so others won’t have to navigate the system alone. The Door’s Legal Services Center (LSC) supports youth like Ardil, serving over 1,000 immigrants and new arrivals last year. The recent defunding of legal support work has put immigrant youth in jeopardy and severely impacted The Door's ability to provide critical legal services. In times of turmoil, we look to our friends and supporters to ensure these services are here for all the young people we serve. Justice should be accessible to all, not just those who can afford it.
