MINNESOTA INDEPENDENT SCHOLARS FORUM

Follow Message Edit

We meet the 4th Saturday of most months at Shoreview Library. Lectures begin at 10:30am. The Minnesota Independent Scholars Forum (MISF) exists to foster scholars, whatever their formal credentials or academic involvement. MISF strives to be both encouraging and critical, always aware of what distinguishes good scholarship. We encourage all projects of disciplined intellectual inquiry. Our membership is open to anyone who supports these goals. MISF provides scholars with 1) opportunities to collaborate with other scholars of similar interests 2) opportunities to exchange ideas on designated topics in small groups 3) opportunities to present, to other scholars and the public, the fruits of study, in oral and written form 4) fiscal agency for scholarly grant submissions. MISF promotes face-to-face interaction among scholars as an irreplaceable means to scholarly excellence.

Minnesota Independent Scholars Forum – My WordPress Blog Quick Links Upcoming Events Philosophy Study Group During this meeting we will finish our discussion of the book The Philosophy of Freedom by Rudolf Steiner by reading Parts II and III. In Part I Steiner laid out his concept of how the human mind is constructed and operates. In Part II he tells us all the wonderful things you can do with this mind with concluding remarks in Part III. Wed like to note that one of the wonderful things you can do with a human mind is to bring it to our meeting to discuss whether or not you can do the things the way that Steiner says you can.

Eduo.org helped me discover a small local organization doing amazing environmental work that I would’ve never found otherwise. It’s a hidden gem for socially conscious people.

I work in a nonprofit and listing our organization on Eduo.org helped us reach new audiences and even new volunteers. It’s easy to use and feels built with love.

What I appreciate most about Eduo is its neutrality and inclusivity. It doesn't push any agenda — just provides tools for people to explore and support what matters to them.
