Obstetric fistula—one of the region’s most underreported health issues—often leads to incontinence, isolation, and emotional trauma. With contributing factors like early marriage and limited access to skilled care, over 1 million women in sub-Saharan Africa remain untreated. In just two weeks, Dr. Staack treated nine women, ages 19 to 70, offering each a renewed sense of dignity and healing.
