Louisville Grotto of the National Speleological Society, Inc.
The object and purpose of the Louisville Grotto is to promote interest in speleology and the various related sciences; to promote conservation among its members and the public in general; to provide fellowship among the members of the organization. It is the intent of the Louisville Grotto in purchasing the Lone Star property to preserve, protect and keep from harm or misuse, any and all of the 126 acres of land, including trees, plants and wildlife. It is also the goal of the Louisville Grotto that the property be developed appropriately to allow for the coexistence of both natural habitat and the speleological community, to allow for community education about our ecosystems, and to allow the opportunity to educate the public concerning the historical significance of the caves.
