SOCIETY OF MEDICOLEGAL DEATH INVESTIGATORS (SOMDI) PROVIDES SCIENTIFIC FORENSIC DEATH INVESTIGATION TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO MEDICOLEGAL DEATH INVESTIGATORS, BEING THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO INVESTIGATE VIOLENT, SUSPICIOUS, SUDDEN AND/OR UNEXPECTED DEATHS TO ASSIST IN THE DETERMINATION OF A DECENDENT'S CAUSE AND MANNER OF DEATH AND WHO ARE EMPLOYED BY MEDICOLEGAL JURISDICTIONS AND/OR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE CURRENTLY CERTIFIED AND ARE IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE AMERICAN BOARD OF MEDICOLEGAL DEATH INVESTIGATORS.

SOMDIs goals include providing training and education opportunities for our members. By the end of this decade we want all of our members to be professionally certified by the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators ABMDI so that we can all provide the finest forensic death investigations to our communities.
