Congratulations to the Holy Cross educators who received special recognition during our end-of-year celebration! ☘️The Blessed Basil Moreau/Classroom Educators of the Year Award went to Irene Wilson and Sue Mills. ☘️The St. Andre Bessette/Non-Classroom Educators of the Year Award recipients are Principal Mark Matthews and Vice Principal for Academic Support Brett Blondi. ☘️The ever-zealous Jean Smith '97 was honored with the Holy Cross Theme of the Year (Zeal) Award! ☘️We also congratulate Michael Ivory on receiving the Holy Roller Award for his assistance in chauffeuring a wonderful group of nuns last summer during the National Eucharistic Congress. ☘️In addition, we recognized the hard-working educators who are leaving us this year. Thank you for your years of faithful service, Jon Kane (9 years), Kathy Douglass (6 years), Josie Haydock (1 year), and Sue Mills (16 years). Your Cathedral family will miss you! Throughout the summer, we'll be highlighting the Cathedral educators who celebrated years of service milestones, so stay tuned as we recognize more of the phenomenal people who transform the hearts and minds of our students. Servant leader. Kind. Saint-like. Those are just a few words often used to describe our beloved Dave Worland, Hon. '25. What a joy for the Cathedral family to celebrate this remarkable man. At this week's Commencement, Dave Worland, our former Principal and Senior VP for Mission and Advancement, received an honorary diploma! He can now hang his Cathedral diploma in his home next to his three children's Cathedral diplomas! Last night, the Cathedral family gathered to celebrate Mr. Worland's retirement. The timing could not have been more perfect, as yesterday was his 70th birthday! Dave Worland, we celebrate your life and your legacy. Thank you for your commitment, loyalty, and service to Catholic education and dear old Cathedral. You served Cathedral for 22 years, and she is better for it. May God bless you today and always! (fb)
