The Newark Bronze Shields is the African-American police officers association within the Newark Police Department. The organization was founded in 1959. TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INTERCOURSE, GENERALCULTURE, CIVIC IMPROVEMENT RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE NEWARK POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE COMMUNITY.

The National Black Police Association an umbrella organization representing morethan35000 dedicated African American police officers nationally stands for unity justice and peace. The NBPA exists to help prod law enforcement agencies to be sensitive to the needs andconcerns of minorities women and the poor. We hope this pamphlet will be helpful.
