Earlier this month, we had the joy of repatriating a woman and her young child to their home country—our first client transported safely to the airport in NightLight’s very own vehicle! Thanks to a generous grant, we were able to purchase a car to safely transport the women we serve. This new vehicle helps protect them from exposure to unsafe environments while they await travel, keeping them out of the public eye and reducing vulnerability to traffickers. We celebrated the completion of this grant by safely driving our first client—and her baby, born in our care—to the airport for a smooth and secure send-off. But the evening didn’t end there. While unloading her belongings, we received an urgent call for assistance: over 90 Ethiopians were waiting at the airport to return home. When we arrived to assist, one of them, a young pregnant woman, began experiencing active contractions. We immediately stepped in, providing emergency transportation to a nearby hospital, helping ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and child. This experience has already shown us the incredible impact of having reliable, safe transportation for the women we serve. We’re grateful and excited for all that’s ahead! (fb)
