Donegal Athletic Club

The Donegal Athletic Club is a nonprofit organization, tax-exempt since April 2011, with an Employer Identification Number (EIN) of 27-0696078. It operates as an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 organization, dedicated to raising funds to support and enhance the athletic programs within the Donegal School District.

Mission

The club's mission is to promote, assist, and provide financial assistance to the athletic programs of the Donegal School District. Although it works in partnership with the district to promote athletics, the Donegal Athletic Club is a private, independent entity, having no legal ties with the school district.

Activities and Goals

One of the significant goals of the organization is to improve the experience for Donegal student-athletes, marching band members, families, and alumni. This includes ambitious projects such as rebuilding sports facilities, including the development of a synthetic turf field for year-round use by all teams and the marching band. In 2012, they completed a feasibility study for a multi-purpose stadium, which would feature synthetic turf, a field house, permanent visitor's bleachers, additional stadium lighting, a new press box and scoreboard, and a walking trail.

Membership and Impact

The organization encourages membership among fans of Donegal athletics, past and present, to support its mission. Membership contributions make a significant difference for student-athletes. The Donegal Athletic Club also recognizes its generous donors through the Honor Roll of Donors, acknowledging their ongoing support. Additionally, the club participates in community events, such as hosting the Donegal Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, to foster community engagement and appreciation for sports excellence within the area.

Community Engagement and Support

The club is active in promoting various sports teams, including the new golf team, which made history by competing for the first time. This initiative and similar endeavors highlight the club's commitment to fostering athletic opportunities and community spirit within the Donegal School District.
