In the Greater Cincinnati area, over 90% of parents view their children's mental health as good, very good or excellent. Yet when surveyed themselves, almost 40% of area youth responded that they feel anxious all or most of the time, marking a significant gap between what children experience and what their parents think they experience. Check out the latest episode of the Getting Health Care Right podcast to hear bi3 President and CEO Jill Miller discuss the youth mental health crisis with representatives of Hopeful Empowered Youth (HEY!), a bi3-funded initiative. We wanted to take a moment to celebrate team members Lera Nash and Sara Shelton of Good Samaritan Hospital, who were recently honored through a gift made to the Good Samaritan Foundation Grateful Patients and Families Program! The Grateful Patients and Families Program allows a patient or their family to donate in honor of a physician, nurse, or team member who made a difference and share a note of thanks. Along with the gift, the Grateful Patient wrote, “We would like to thank you for the wonderful care my son received while at Good Sam. His PCA Lera went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as it could be. His nurse, Sara, was also exceptional.” Donations provide support for projects and services in the Good Samaritan Region.
