NEIGHBORHOOD LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

Follow Message Edit

The Neighborhood Leadership Institute (NLI) exists to develop grassroots leadership that will contribute to rebuilding the bonds of community and improving the quality of life for neighborhood residents throughout the Greater Cleveland area.Greater Cleveland's revitalization efforts require multiple types of capital: economic capital, physical capital, intellectual capital, and especially social capital and human capital. While development banks, housing and community development corporations, and university-based urban studies and public policy programs have been established to provide some types of the capital required to reinvigorate Greater Cleveland's neighborhoods, the development of the area's social and human capital has been more difficult to conceptualize and organize. The Neighborhood Leadership Institute is a response to this need.
