Chicago Fire Department Gold Badge Society
The Gold Badge Society is a volunteer support group for families of duty death firefighters and paramedics of the Chicago Fire Department. Founded in 1991, members serve as family advocates to CFD families as well as on a national level. THE ORGANIZATION WAS FOUNDED FEBRUARY 17, 1991. MEMBERSHIP IS COMPRISED OF THE WIDOWED AND FAMILIES OF FIREFIGHTERS AND PARAMEDICS WHO HAVE MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE LOSING THEIR LIVES IN THE LINE OF DUTY. OUR PURPOSE FOR EXISTING IS TO OFFER SUPPORT AND COMFORT TO ANY AND ALL WHO MIGHT BENEFIT FROM OUR EXPERIENCES, ESPECIALLY ANY FUTURE DUTY-DEATH FAMILIES.
