The Silver Knight Award, sponsored by @miamiherald, honors exceptional high school students for their academic excellence and commitment to community service. As we approach the interviews on April 9, we’re excited to spotlight our nominees and celebrate their achievements. We’re continuing our series with our nominee for the Business category, Caroline Crews ‘25. Callie’s project, “One Change Bracelets,” is a nonprofit raising awareness and funds for melanoma research. After her mother’s melanoma diagnosis, the founders created color-changing bracelets as a reminder to wear sunscreen, aiming to educate and prevent skin cancer. Their slogan, “One Change can make a difference,” reflects their mission. Through the initiative, they have raised and donated over $150,000 to Melanoma Cancer Research through Miami Cancer Institute at Baptist Hospital, Sylvester Cancer Center and the Melanoma Research Foundation. Last February, she also helped the Melanoma Research Foundation host its first “Miles for Melanoma 5K” in Miami through event promotions, sponsorship and volunteer organization. She also worked with Zoo Miami to host the event. In addition to her service, Callie is a member of the Read to Lead club and on the Varsity Soccer Team Congratulations, Callie! #PalmerTrinity #PTSFalcons #FalconPride (fb)

The Silver Knight Award, sponsored by @miamiherald, honors exceptional high school students for their academic excellence and commitment to community service. As we approach the interviews on April 9, we’re excited to spotlight our nominees and celebrate their achievements. We’re continuing our series with our nominee for the Social Science category, Isabella Smith ‘25. Isabella’s project, “A Movement Against Intolerance,” specializes in working with hate crime victims and discussing hate speech. The initiative was created in Madrid, Spain, and spread to different city centers, including Valencia. With them, she was guided through different legal processes relating to marginalized groups, including hate crime legislation and the immigration process in Spain. These lessons were her first dive into formal policy-making to combat social injustice and helped her find a new approach to protecting the equal rights of all. They also taught her about the material creation process relating to the educational content they intended to share with the local community. She learned about their distribution processes and how they contacted local schools and service centers to teach them about anti-hate speech education. Their dedication to help make the world a less discriminatory place motivated her to bring back what she learned to her community and continue to spread the word. In addition to her service, Isa is an active member of our school community. She is the Model UN club's Executive Secretariat, president of the Thespian Honor Society, a Student Ambassador and Key Biscayne Counselor, and co-president of the Breakthrough Miami Club. Additionally, she is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. Congratulations, Isabella! #PalmerTrinity #PTSFalcons #FalconPride (fb)
