David Minor, Director of Worship Arts and Media with Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church | 2025 #WeAreMakingBlackHistory Honoree | From Basketball Star to Worship Arts Leader | Journey of Faith, Service, and Musical Excellence Meet David Minor, Director of Worship Arts and Media with Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church. David, also known as Minister Minor, is a self-described God-fearing man who “loves God, loves his family, loves God’s people, and has embraced the lifestyle of being a servant-leader.” Minister Minor is a Cincinnati native, former all-American basketball player, and Purcell Marian High School graduate. He was the 1986 Gatorade Player of the Year and won the 1985 AAA State Boys Basketball Championship. He attended Indiana University and graduated from Xavier University with a degree in organizational communication. “Success is never an accident,” said Minister Minor. “Build a culture and team of people that exceed their potential in every area of life.” He has been in music ministry and worship arts leadership for over 25 years, produced, written, and recorded with many national and local artists, and founded Cincinnati United. His original composition “We Offer Praise” was the theme song for the Mass Service for Pope Francis’s visit to the USA in 2015. Minister Minor volunteers with many organizations including Matthew 25: Ministries, United Way, and Cincinnati Children's Hospital. His group Cincinnati United performs concerts to raise funding for various organizations. He credits his mother with instilling in him a love of music and believes future leaders should find successful mentors to surround themselves with. “I want to be remembered for my unwavering faith in God and the positive impact I have had on people,” he said.
