BEHIND THE SCENES The Board of Directors that manages Quincy Bog also manages the Pemi-Baker Land Trust (PBLT). PBLT works with landowners who voluntarily wish to attach conservation easements to their land. The landowner still owns the land, but the terms of the easement that typically limit development are forever attached to the property, even as ownership changes hands. Part of the process of establishing an easement is creating a baseline report of the condition of the land shortly after the legal easement document is signed. In this photo, PBLT members are in Wentworth taking notes on the natural features and condition of the land as an "as-is" assessment of the land to be included in the baseline report. (fb)
