International Contemporary Ensemble :: New century, New audiences, New music “America’s foremost new-music group” (Alex Ross) – The International Contemporary Ensemble is an artist collective that is transforming the way music is created and experienced. With a commitment to cultivating a more curious and engaged society through music, the International Contemporary Ensemble – as a commissioner and performer at the highest level – amplifies creators whose work propels and challenges how music is made and experienced. The Ensemble’s 35 members are featured as soloists, chamber musicians, commissioners, and collaborators with the foremost musical artists of our time. Works by emerging composers have anchored the Ensemble’s programming since its founding in 2001, and the group’s recordings and digital platforms highlight the many voices that weave music’s present.

Music by ModneyFilm by Frank Heath ICE cellist Kivie CahnLipmans latest recording consists of rare viola da gamba music from the Belle Epoque. Ronde de Saisons was released on Olde Focus Recordings an imprint of ICE guitarist Dan Lippels New Focus Recordings on February 3. The disc features the premiere recording of a quartet by Ottorino Respighi and two by Henri Casadesusall of which Kivie transcribed from manuscripteach notated for an ensemble of quinton viola damore tenor viol and bass viol.

ANNOUNCING 🌟 ICE at the Luna Lab Festival June 26, 7:00pm at Carnegie Hall We’re thrilled to perform at the Luna Lab Festival this year. Members of the International Contemporary Ensemble have worked with fellows throughout the year to workshop their new pieces. The world premieres of these works, alongside works by Luna Lab mentor composers Han Lash, Nkeiru Okoye, Angélica Negrón, and Mari Esabel Valverde, will be performed in the Resnick Education Wing at Carnegie Hall.
