Rosenbach staff and supporters enjoyed a wonderful excursion to the New York Antiquarian International Book Fair this weekend. Our trip included a special visit to the private collection of Susan Jaffe Tane and cocktails at Freeman’s|Hindman auction house— plus a surprise encounter with Neil deGrasse Tyson! Thanks to all who made this weekend such a delight. We’re already looking forward to next year. #nybookfair #rarebooks #bookcollecting #rmlsignatureprograms @nybookfair @neildegrassetyson @freemansauction @kscouten @edwardgpettit @bryn.ziegler @jobizink (fb)

We’re looking forward to spending the weekend in New York for the New York International Antiquarian Book Fair. Every year, Rosenbach staff and members of our Delancey Society head north to immerse ourselves in bookish community. The New York International Antiquarian Book Fair is one of the world’s most important marketplaces for the buying and selling of rare books, manuscripts, and printed artworks. It is also one of the book world’s leading annual social occasions. Booksellers, private collectors, and institutional representatives converge at the Park Avenue Armory to shop and commune— to visit the fair is to see the rare book world at work and play. #nybookfair #rarebooks #newyork @nybookfair @kscouten @thewordinthewilderness @jobizink Pictured: Former Rosenbach Director Derick Dreher, current Rosenbach Director Kelsey Scouten Bates, Director of Outreach & Engagement Alex Ames, and Curator & Senior Director of Collections Judith Guston review materials at the New York International Antiquarian Book Fair, March 2020.
