We take pride in being a resource for our clients and our community. But our clients are often a resource for us as well. During our recent in-house event, our client, John, demonstrated Live Recognition, a feature on the Magnifier app, available for iPhones and iPads. Live Recognition helps users scan their surroundings and provides live descriptions of what is in the camera's view. The Magnifier app is compatible with Apple iOS 18 and later updates and can be downloaded from the Apple Store. Lookout - Assisted Vision is an Android app (available for phones & tablets) that assists blind and visually impaired people in exploring their surroundings, recognizing different objects, reading text, and more. Lookout is accessible in more than 30 languages. It’s available in Andriod 6.0 and later updates and can be downloaded from Google Play. Technology is making our world more accessible. The goal of Live Recognition and Lookout is to help blind and visually impaired people better navigate their environments. To view Live Recognition in action, please check out the video below. We are grateful that this year’s 13th Annual Bookin’ for Lookin’ race has a Title Sponsor: Yardley Eye Care. The Bookin’ for Lookin’ Foundation raises money to improve the quality of life for people with visual impairments and BCABVI is the proud beneficiary of all the race proceeds. With these unrestricted funds, BCABVI has the flexibility to address our clients' evolving needs and provide timely support where it's needed most. Ten years ago, Dr. Brian Cohen established Yardley Eye Care, where he and his wife, Dr. Nicholson, are committed to providing high-quality care for their patients. In 2024, they expanded their reach by opening a second location in Washington Crossing. Dr. Cohen specializes in the treatment and management of ocular diseases, using state-of-the-art technology to deliver comprehensive optometry services. He’s an expert in refractive surgery. Dr. Nicholson's compassionate approach focuses on helping each patient achieve the highest quality of vision through whole-patient care. To learn more about Yardley Eye Care, why Drs. Cohen and Nicholson have chosen to sponsor the 2025 Bookin’ for Lookin’ race, and their connection with BCABVI, please check out the video below. #yardleyeyecare #bookinforlookin #buckscountyassociationfortheblind #blind #visualimpairment (fb)
