Today is World Health Day. This annual observance of global health draws attention to a specific health topic that concerns everyone around the world. This year's theme is "Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures." In 2025, the World Health Organization (WHO) is calling for a worldwide reinvigoration of efforts to ensure access to high quality care for women and babies, especially in under-resourced countries, humanitarian emergencies and fragile settings where most maternal and newborn deaths occur. Maternal and child health is a top priority for Global Health Ministries. The health of mothers and babies is the foundation of healthy families and communities, helping ensure hopeful futures for all.
