The Jade Foundation Welcome to The JADE Foundation Our Mission To improve the quality of life for adolescent and young adult cancer patients by providing comfort and entertainment items to relieve the emotional and physical stress of lengthy hospitalizations and treatments. We offer items such as Experts in the medical field believe that cancer patients benefit from healthy distractions as a way to take their mind off their pain and discomfort helping them to cope with their diagnosis and treatment and promote a sense of wellbeing and relaxation. The JADE Foundation honors the memory of Alex Dobay a Burton Ohio resident and Hawken School graduate who after bravely battling cancer for several years succumbed to the illness at the age of 19.
