Part of a larger effort to help fight food insecurity in the city of Oneonta, our Family Food Bag Project—coordinated by the Office of Student Care—identified and assisted 10 local families in need by bringing bags of food items to Oneonta Middle School and Oneonta Head Start each week, funded by a generous grant from Chobani. “I learned that I love nourishing people,” says student Helena Rodriguez. “I like being involved in my school and my community. Working on the Family Food Bag Project has confirmed for me that I want to pursue a career where I can use my critical thinking and organizational skills and also make a difference in people’s everyday lives.” (fb)

We were thrilled to celebrate our inaugural class of direct support professional (DSP) #Microcredential program graduates this weekend! 🎉⤵️ 18 local students, all Springbrook employees, received college credits for the new #WorkforceTraining program offered by SUNY in partnership with the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities. We were one of six SUNY campuses chosen to expand the program and granted $706,455 through Governor Kathy Hochul's office to provide local workforce training and fill a growing need for specially trained support professionals across our region.
