Founded in 1969.The Rochester-Avon Historical Society is a non-profit organization that educates our community about local history to foster appreciation and preservation of our historical resources and pride of place. Rochester, Michigan. The Rochester-Avon Historical Society (RAHS) was founded to help preserve, collect, and interpret the history of the greater Rochester area for present and future generations. We believe that by educating citizens about the community's heritage, we instill an appreciation of our history; by perpetuating our past through the preservation of historic resources, we maintain a rich diversity in community life; by respecting and restoring architectural integrity of structures and by conserving neighborhood environments, we preserve the unique character and document the historical evolution of the place in which we live.

Meet Our Honor Roll: Louis Joseph Cubba Louis Joseph Cubba was born in Du Quoin, Illinois, on October 8, 1918, the son of Michele βMikeβ and Barbara Lavalle Cubba. He attended Northern High School in Detroit and worked as an inspector at Murray Corporation in Detroit before the war. His mother and his brother, Sam Cubba, were residents of Rochester, Michigan.
