Northwest Pinball and Gameroom Show Committee

The Northwest Pinball and Gameroom Show Committee is a nonprofit organization legally registered as a Social Welfare Organization. It is headquartered in Redmond, Washington. The organization is primarily known for hosting the annual Northwest Pinball and Arcade Show, a major event in the region dedicated to pinball and arcade culture.

Purpose and Activities

The committee's primary purpose is to educate the public about pinball and arcade machines through live events, hands-on experiences, and educational seminars. These events draw thousands of attendees who can interact with hundreds of pinball and arcade machines, participate in tournaments, and engage with industry guests and speakers.

Events and Festivals

The flagship event, the Northwest Pinball and Arcade Show, has been ongoing since 2008. Initially started by pinball collectors in the region, it has grown into a prominent festival featuring extensive collections of pinball machines, arcade games, and vintage electro-mechanical games. The event includes guest speakers from the pinball and arcade industry, tournaments sanctioned by the International Flipper Pinball Association (IFPA), and various vendor stalls offering gaming-related merchandise.

Philanthropy

The organization is committed to philanthropy, with proceeds from the events supporting various causes. Over the years, it has donated to local organizations, including Tacoma’s Toy Rescue Mission and Northwest colleges through scholarships. Additionally, funds have been raised to provide entertainment for children at locations like the Seattle Ronald McDonald House.

Volunteer Engagement

The organization relies entirely on volunteer efforts for the execution of its events. Volunteers are rewarded with free passes and other perks, fostering a strong sense of community among participants and contributors.

History and Impact

Since its inception, the Northwest Pinball and Gameroom Show Committee has evolved from a small gathering to a significant regional event, attracting collectors, enthusiasts, and families from across the Northwest. Its annual events not only entertain but also contribute to the preservation and promotion of pinball and arcade culture.
