Light the Way's core belief is that education is important for the future of the young ladies in Guatemala. We believe that if you educate a woman, that she will educate her children and that with education, families will--with each educated generation--lift themselves up from poverty to a sustainable better standard of living.Because of our core belief, the mission statement for Light the Way is: To assist physically and sexually abused girls rescued from the streets of Guatemala by providing funding to assist the caregivers who provide a safe and nurturing environment for the girls in the areas of education, social adaptation, physical & mental health care and job placement.
