Calliope is a nonprofit organization that promotes and preserves traditional and contemporary folk music. Calliope presents concerts, operates the Calliope School of Folk Music, and conducts a free educational outreach program for kids ages K-12. Founded in 1976, Calliope is a non-profit organization that organizes and administers a concert series and a folk music school. As the premier promoter of folk, roots, and acoustic music in southwestern Pennsylvania, Calliope's mission is to promote and preserve traditional and contemporary heritage-based music and its allied arts.

Through its programs Calliope encourages all of us to explore the breadth of our musical roots and engage with our musical heritage. I love being a subscriber to Calliope. I enjoy hearing musicians Ive known and admired for years and appreciate the opportunity to be introduced to performers I havent heard before just as much.
