SOUTH BAY WORKFORCE INVESTMENT BOARD INC

The SBWIB serves cities in the South Bay to find jobs and assists businesses to hire candidates. The primary objective of the SBWIB is to provide policy guidance which will allow the staff to create an environment where every person maximizes his or her career potential, and all employers have the human resources they need to grow and prosper. Central to this objective is collaboration among a wide range of stakeholders including business, labor, education, social services, philanthropic organizations and community-based agencies.The vision of the South Bay Workforce Investment Board (SBWIB) for meeting workforce development challenges within the 11 cities that comprise our local workforce investment area is one that embraces comprehensive strategies to meet the needs of business for a skilled workforce, while at the same time creating opportunities for workers to prepare for and enter into well-paid careers.The South Bay Workforce Investment Board, Inc. (SBWIB, Inc.), established in 2000, is a 501(c) 3, non-profit corporation that operates on behalf of the South Bay Workforce Investment Board. SBWIB, Inc. administers employment and training programs through four One-Stop Business & Career Services centers (Torrance, Carson, Gardena, Inglewood) and serves the 11 cities of the South Bay Workforce Investment Area, which include the cities of Carson, El Segundo, Gardena, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Inglewood, Lawndale, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Lomita and Torrance.
