Advocates for protecting the health, safety and welfare of our kids and families at school, on our roads. Since 2007 we've been growing our team and doing great work on behalf of our community. Over the years many citizens passionate about clean water, safe roads, strong schools, healthy food and energy production challenges have approached us with their concerns. We recognize that big changes to the way business is done in our county and region takes many brains and many hands. We organized, we learned, we educated, we grew. A broader scope emerged, a clear vision for healthy, vibrant, diverse and resilient communities.We are now a 4 organization team supported by the non profit (501c3) Land and Cultural Preservation Fund, Inc (LCPF) with a broader scope and clear vision. Each organization has its own mission that supports the Fund's overall vision of healthy, vibrant, diverse and resilient communities.Friends of Frederick County works to preserve the unique character, environment and quality of life in Frederick County, Maryland through public education, active civic engagement and government oversight. Our focus is on curbing urban sprawl, maximizing stream protections and permanent preservation of farmland. Community FARE was established to help safeguard a diverse and healthy local food economy that will preserve farmland integrity and biodiversity and ensure that food grown here is accessible to residents of Frederick County and its regional neighbors. Stream Link Education organizes and leads tree plantings with local community members, organizations and businesses. Community Renewable Energy seeks to enable renewable energy development and resiliency for public economic benefit – such as at schools, waste water plants, local government buildings, hospitals and farms (in their capacity to provide local food to the community).
