History

The formation of the Grand Lodge dates back to January 4-8, 1808, when a convention of five of the six existing Masonic lodges in Ohio was held in Chillicothe to create a unified governing body for the state's Masonic activities. Prior to this, Masonic lodges in Ohio operated under charters from other states, including Massachusetts, Kentucky, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.
