Join us alongside the ACLU for Freedom To Be monument unveiling! The Freedom To Be monument in Washington D.C. is a powerful and living testament to trans resilience and joy. As we all await the decision of the landmark trans justice cas, U.S. v. Skrmetti, this monument will serve as a bold statement of support for trans, gender non-conforming and two spirit people. Inspired by the legacy of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, it ensures that trans voices, stories, and existence are honored and seen. Join us on May 17th at National Mall between 4th and 7th Streets. The installation will be on view from 10:00 AM–5:00 PM, with a rally and celebration from 12:30–2:00 PM. You can expect speakers, live music and DJ sets, interactive activations and Know Your Rights materials and other surprises. If you need accommodations to be able to fully participate in this event, please contact FreedomToBe@aclu.org. RSVP here: action.aclu.org/signup/freedom-be-monument-rsvp (fb)

This past week, our GSA Comms team had the opportunity to attend the Narrative Power Summit in New Orleans, LA. Narrative Power Summit is a transformative convening for social justice communicators and movement workers. It was such an igniting experience for participants rooted in the local organizing context of New Orleans, several cultural and artistic activities and workshops led by organizations actively in the field fighting for narrative power. Thank you to @radicalcommunicatorsnetwork & @thisisreframe for curating such an intentional, connective gathering of powerful storytellers, strategists and changemakers! Thank you as well to our partners at @justschoolsfund for their generous sponsorship of our staff! Be sure to check out the newest book, Liberation Stories: Building Narrative Power for 21st Century Social Movements, compiled and authored by Shanelle Matthews, Marzena Zukowska & Radical Communicators Network! #NPS2025 #narrativepowersummit (Note: This graphic is being reposted for correction) (fb)
