To furnish leadership and to foster advances in diagnostic, interventional, gastrointestinal and abdominal radiology; to afford a forum for the exchange of knowledge pertaining to research practice and education in gastrointestinal and abdominal radiology. To stimulate investigation and teaching in the methods of preventing and treating diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and abdomen; to enhance the study and practice of gastrointestinal and abdominal radiology by establishing lectureships and scholarships.
