Thank you for making Xander and his family smile! Xander was diagnosed with brain cancer just before his sophomore year of college at only 19 years old. He dreamed of having some fun with his family away from the cold New Jersey winter, doctor’s visits and the stress of dealing with his illness. A trip to Universal at Orlando was just the ticket! You really are an amazing community. Every day for two years while Latrice was caring for her beloved aunt who was diagnosed with a terminal illness, they watched Sherri, their favorite TV show, hosted by Sherri Shepherd. Latrice says, “It’s very important to have women like Sherri Shepherd on your TV screen, smiling with bright colors because smiles are contagious, and we loved and adored her so much.” When Latrice was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer, she dreamed of meeting Sherri, but you gave her so much more! Latrice got to attend Sherri’s comedy show at Motor City Hotel and Casino, accompanied by her mother and aunt – along with a special meet and greet with her idol. When she heard the news, she said, “I’m about to freak out - I’m so happy.” As always, our incredible community opened their hearts. MotorCity Casino Hotel kindly donated three tickets to Sherri’s show, Turo helped with transportation, The Hudson Cafe treated them to brunch, a host called Obia helped out with accommodations, and our supporters also helped with other expenses. Latrice said the comedy show was hilarious and loved meeting Sherri, saying that she was “so humble” and that “everybody everywhere was so nice to me.” #Turo (fb)
