Sankofa Community Development Corporation works to build healthier communities for generations to come. At Sankofa Community Development Corporation, we believe health to be the cornerstone of a thriving community and work with stakeholders to identify locally-felt social challenges and address them in thoughtful, culturally-competent ways. Our community health programs support a local environment with children and families in our community to promote positive health outcomes. We understand the power of the built environment in shaping health and partner with other organizations and non-profits to address the “social determinants of health” that trigger inequities. Our ultimate goal is to support the creation of a local environment that promotes positive health outcomes and builds healthier communities for generations to come.

Sankofa worked with a team of wetland ecologists and landscape architects to transform this 40acre area into a space for environmental education relaxation and recreation for all to enjoy.
