Seminar On the Acquisition of Latin American Library Materials

SALALM

SINCE ITS CREATION IN 1955, SALALM'S WORK FOCUSES ON IMPROVING ACCESS TO AND DISSEMINATION OF BIBLIOGRAPHIC INFORMATION ABOUT ALL FORMATS OF PUBLICATIONS CONCERNING LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN. IN RECENT YEARS MATERIAL FROM THE IBERIAN COUNTRIES WERE INCORPORATED INTO OUR MISSION. A MAJOR CONCERN IS SUPPORTING RESEARCH THROUGH IMPROVING LIBRARY AND ARCHIVAL COLLECTIONS, OFTEN THROUGH COOPERATIVE EFFORTS ON A REGIONAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEVEL. ATTENTION TO LIBRARY AND ARCHIVAL DEVELOPMENT WITHIN LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN IS ALWAYS OF CONCERN, AND ANNUALLY SEVERAL PROFESSIONALS FROM THOSE AREAS RECEIVE THE ENLACE FELLOWSHIP TO ATTEND FOR PRESENTING A PAPER AT OUR ANNUAL CONFERENCE.
