The double bass section is essential in an orchestra, not only for its deep register but also for its remarkable melodic capabilities. The resonance of the bass will be on display May 31st in our performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 1. In the third movement, our Principal Bass, Bren Plummer, will lead the ensemble in a round of "Frère Jacques," a familiar folk tune.
