Community Outreach Ministry
Community Outreach Ministry (COM) a 501 C3 nonprofit public charity is serving highest at-risk kids impacted by parental incarceration. COM has exclusively designed an innovative diversion-led model "Breaking the Cycle of Incarceration," (BCI) through scientific research with youth who were the co-researchers ages 19-22 who have been with our organization for ten plus years. These youth used Storytelling as a research tool to tell their lived experiences from their perspectives, meanings, and understandings. The data that emerged were the evidenced-based themes and measurements that confirmed the intervention treatments. Caregivers are supplied with comprehensive community support services, resources, and referrals for the families.
