Riverbend Head Start and Family Services' mission is to empower children and families to develop positive skills to meet life's challenges. THE HEAD START PROGRAM PROVIDES CHILDREN WITH A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM OF CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES. IT ACCOMPLISHES THIS BY: PROVIDING PARENTS WITH TRAINING IN CHILD DEVELOPMENT, PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SKILL BUILDING AND PROVIDING LINKAGES WITH EDUCATION AND SERVICE AGENCIES IN THE COMMUNITY. ADDITIONALLY, THE PROGRAM ASSISTS FAMILIES BY PROVIDING SOCIAL SERVICES EITHER DIRECTLY OR BY REFERRAL.
