Home Connecting Communities to Nature The Mammoth Lakes Trails Public Access Foundation MLTPA creates sustainable trail and recreation systems that support prosperous economies and healthy communities in Mammoth Lakes the Eastern Sierra and beyond. Our origin story lies in the effective resolution of a controversy over the public39s access to the federal public lands that surround the community of Mammoth Lakes and define its culture. We play a key roll in local trail system planning and implementation and have secured reliable funding for a variety of sustainable recreation initiatives that benefit our community. We now work across federal state and local jurisdictions to secure public access and to build sustainable recreation systems to ensurethat human experiences in the natural world remain inspiring for generations to come.

🌟 NEW In-Person Information Sessions. 🌟 This fall, the Outdoor Recreation Work Experience Program is teaming up with regional organizations to launch an exciting new career pathway in the Eastern Sierra. 👣 We’re looking for adventurous individuals ready to: ✔️ Work with regional organizations out in the field ✔️ Earn college credit toward Sustainable Outdoor Recreation Leadership or Forestry, Climate & Conservation ✔️ Gain hands-on skills in guiding, trail work, and outdoor education 📅 Program runs August 25 – mid-December, 2025 ✅ Applications are now OPEN.
